Easter "Eggs" citement

Saturday afternoon we finished watching a movie (ain't Redbox grand?) and I was chatting with Marsha on the phone when the biggest flies you can imagine invaded the motor home!  Of course I was nagging Les to get those flies!!  Well fast forward, turns out the flies were honey bees and we were being swarmed.  I quickly hung up and as we started to get out of the RV we discovered we couldn't as the bees were all around the door.  We motioned over our neighbor for some spray (of course ours was outside lol) but he didn't have any.  Finally Les ran out as I was swatting inside to get as many as possible.  Fortunately they were docile for whatever reason but they continued to swarm outside the RV.  Les spent the next hour or so hosing them out.  While we have read about thousands of bees swarming, this was a mini-swarm, a few hundred he thinks.  Anyway, we figured he had chased them off and we were all set.  The next morning, yes, Easter, they were back.  We were shut tight so they didn't get inside but we suspect that the Queen must have been around, dead or alive, not sure.  So Les went directly to the office at 9:00 and they said they would call the beekeeper but they were not surprised, apparently this does happen.  The beekeeper comes and relocates the Queen.  I am using the word apparently since the beekeeper never showed up and we stayed inside the RV all day yesterday.  A check of the area today shows the bees have departed (and so apparently is the Queen).  So it was an eggs-citing Easter!

March "Madness"

We landed here in Gold Canyon, Arizona, about 50 miles east of Phoenix on March 1st.  We selected the Gold Canyon Golf & RV Resort as our destination for the month.  We miss not seeing our friends Tim and Glenda but they couldn't join us this year.  We think we actually were assigned one of the nicest sites in the RV Pet area and am posting a photo of it.  It's a corner lot, although the spots are so spacious it would not have mattered.  We had excellent neighbors, Mark & Joan (Sophie too) and enjoyed chatting with them. Lots of activities for those who want to participate but at the very least the pool is very nice and this is a convenient location for us.  The most enjoyable part of RVing is probably the wonderfully diverse and interesting people you meet with similar likes.  Just last night we met another Cornerstone owner and their friends from Reno who are most interested in buying one too.

Backtracking for a minute, of course we attended Pole Day at the Phoenix International Speedway, although we opted to watch the races from the RV.  We also had the opportunity to connect with friends Peter and Jeanne who now reside in Scottsdale.  Spending some time with them brought back great memories and a renewed effort to get ourselves in the shape they are in!

I am titling this March Madness because the heat here has been of record making.  Apparently we are having weather that resembles May instead of March.  The sunsets are spectacular and the warm days are humidity free, something that makes my life nicer!

Although it is traditionally basketball season, we are continuing to love TopGolf and since there are 2 locations here in AZ we are taking advantage of them.  Les is getting better (or at least practicing to be able to play with brother-in-law Bill when we visit San Diego) and I am learning how to swing the club.  I do look like some type of robot so I think maybe a lesson may be in order!

Well all from here for now, stay well.
